Your scripts and classroom setup
Classroom Buddy stores your saved scripts, class groups, character and voice preferences, and generated audio on your Mac. Your scripts may contain any text you choose to enter. The teacher console and student display present different parts of the same lesson; review student-facing content before using it in class.
AI-assisted lesson generation
When you request an AI-generated lesson, your prompt and the lesson settings needed to fulfill it are sent to an OBXSoft-operated service, which uses OpenAI to generate an editable script. This is an online feature. Do not include student names, education records, medical information, or other sensitive personal information in prompts. Review generated content before using it.
AI-generated character speech
When you generate a character line, the line of text, selected voice, and speech settings are sent through an OBXSoft-operated voice service to OpenAI’s speech service. Returned audio is cached locally for playback. Replaying a cached line does not require another speech-generation request. The voice is AI-generated.
Service information and providers
The online services process request content to generate scripts or audio, along with technical information needed for access control, metering, troubleshooting, and security. Network requests can expose an IP address and request time to the service. OpenAI processes submitted content under its applicable service terms and data policies; do not assume a zero-retention arrangement. Contact support if your organization needs more detail before enabling these features.
Retention and deletion
Saved scripts and cached audio remain on your Mac until removed. Removing local files does not delete content already processed by an online provider. Contact support for help with local removal or a request relating to OBXSoft service records, identifying the feature and approximate request date without sending sensitive lesson content. Provider records are subject to that provider’s retention and deletion practices.
Use in a classroom
Classroom Buddy is a teacher-operated tool. Use generic or fictional examples in online prompts, supervise the student display, and follow your school’s requirements for online services. If private student information was submitted by mistake, contact support so we can help assess available deletion steps.
Questions, privacy requests, and updates
Email support@obxsoft.app with the app name and the type of help you need. A parent, guardian, or authorized school representative can contact us about a student’s privacy. Please avoid sending private records or credentials.
